The Importance Of Money Management

Photo by Karolina Grabowska on Pexels.com

Money management is a key trait in order to having a strong, orderly household. What is money management? Money management provides the understanding of the amount you make off of your career, and to divide that by how much your payments expect you to pay. Life isn’t free or cheap in this world. So, you need to reserve money for car payments, electricity, gas, heat, etc. Being able to find a stable career that could pay for all of those needs, and then some to live with leisure, I would consider to be very important. Money, is a way to live in this world. Without it, your considered by society and banks, utterly useless. The world doesn’t want you to stay, you have to fight the world to stay.

Now, money is a very controversial topic. Although I’m not talking about why it shouldn’t/should exist, I’m talking about how money just is, and how to survive “the system.” How it’s important to manage your money, and to stay on track as best as you possibly can. In order for your household not to hold any burdening weight, keeping your payments together and up-to-date is essential. Having well-paying careers and doing well in school to attain such a thing, is not to be taken lightly, or treated carelessly. Otherwise, certain things (like a house, car, etc.) get taken away from you by the government. Or you’d be taken away for jail time. Although in the U.S., you’d have to have an outstanding debt in order to land you in jail, if you are sued and you miss a court hearing. Either way in this situation, you’d be left homeless or in a jail cell, what would you do then?

Money, money, money…

It’s best to avoid that scenario entirely, and just keep up with your payments. So, what are the essential things that are necessary for you to pay for? There are a total of tweleve things that you have to pay for: house insurance, utilities, internet, mobile payment, rent/or mortgage, car payment, gas, car insurance, life insurance, savings, car maintenance, and groceries (food & hygiene). There are other things to pay for that aren’t necessary, but are ways of entertainment and luxury. A few examples of these fun extras are: going out to eat, shopping, monthly/yearly subscriptions, technology, cable, makeup, gym membership, and cosmetic appointments (surgery, hair, Botox, dental, etc.). You could choose to pay for these things, or not. I’ve divided these 12 essential things into three groups: House, Car, and Personal. Let’s dive right in!

Oh yayyy…>︿<

House

So, what are the payments for a house? There are quite a few: rent/or mortgage, house insurance, internet, utilities, and a mobile payment. In order for you to understand why they are all important to pay for, you need to understand their purposes. Rent is a payment that is usually of an amount fixed by via contract. It’s made by a tenant (one that pays rent to occupy land, a building, or other property owned by another) at specified intervals, in return for the right to occupy/use the property of another. Mortgage is a loan for the purchase of real property, secured by a lien (a claim upon a part of another’s property that arises because of an unpaid debt related to that property, and that operates as a drag on the property until the debt is satisfied) on the property. Fun fact: You won’t have to pay for a mortgage and a loan, you could only pay for one.

Now that we understand what rent and mortgage is, what’s house insurance? House insurance is a form of property insurance that covers losses (and damages) to an individual’s house, and assets in the home. Why is internet important? Internet allows you to visit various amounts of sites, apps, etc. A lot of this is simply for entertainment, but it also could be very essential for your work. Like being able to use an email, visit certain apps that check into your bank account, and so on.

This leads to the next question, what’s so important about a utility bill? A utility bill is a monthly statement amount that a household (or business) is expected to pay for their utilities. This includes: electricity, gas, water, sewerage service, and trash collection. Last but not least, mobile payment. A mobile payment is a money payment made for a product or service through a portable electronic device, such as a tablet or cell phone. A cell phone or tablet can help you connect with others, and provide what your personal needs desire.

Car

The payments for a car are: car maintenance, car insurance, car payment, and gas. Car maintenance refers to the act of maintaining an automobile. Car insurance is a contract between an individual and an insurance company, that provides financial protection against physical damage (or bodily injury) resulting from traffic collisions and liability. That could also arise from incidents in a vehicle.

A car payment (also known as a car note) is when you finance a car. Although, you don’t actually own the car. You’re borrowing money and telling the lender that you promise to pay back the amount they loaned you (plus interest) within a certain time frame. Gas is important to pay for because it’s the fuel for your motor vehicle.

Note: A car payment and car loan are not the same thing! Car payments are determined largely by three things. Which is the loan amount, interest rate, and length of the loan term. They can also factor in fees, taxes, and charges. (Which varies widely depending on where you live and where you purchased the car). A car loan is a sum of money that a consumer borrows from a lender to purchase a car. The longer the loan term, the more total interest you’ll pay over the life of the loan. Yet, it also means lower monthly payments.

Personal

There are also essential personal payments that you need to take into consideration. Such as groceries (food & hygiene), life insurance, and savings. Paying for groceries that include food and hygiene, is extremely important. It keeps you from starving, and your body healthy, while looking bright.

Life insurance is a contract between an insurance policy holder and an insurer. Where the insurer promises to pay a sum of money to the beneficiary when the insured person dies (or after a pre-determined period), in exchange for the premiums paid by the policyholder. This is important especially for those living with a roommate/s, or having a spouse.

What are savings? Savings are income not spent. Methods of saving include putting money aside in, for example, a deposit account, a pension account, an investment fund, or as cash. I highly recommend doing this. Savings would also be considered back-up money, for its saving up for bigger items.

Wrap-Up!

In conclusion, money management is important because it helps to understand where your money goes to which payment. Whatever the payment is for, you should always take care of the essential payments first. Such as your house, car, or personal payments. These have a lot more worth, and are an absolute must to take care of, than the luxurious-extra payments do.

Without money management, or understanding what your money is going towards, you get very lost and overwhelmed. To the point where you’d fall into debt, lack any kind of accountability for your actions, and dig a deep hole for yourself. The best option is to find a solid career that could pay for all of the essentials, and more. So that you don’t have to worry about the mundane payments, or when your next meal is. So that you can live comfortably and happily instead.

The Most Important Skills That I Can Use In Starting My Business This Year

In order to sell something, you must have a certain set of skills. Some skills come naturally, others have to be learned. It depends on the person and the skill. However, with enough practice, anyone can become a great salesperson. Some people just naturally have a head start.

The number one skill to have in the vast majority of situations is patience. People can be very difficult to work with, especially when they are looking for something specific. Some people might be confused, it’s easy to get frustrated trying to explain something to someone. Or trying to help them out in any way, when they are not entirely sure what they need help with. There are also difficult customers who are easily annoyed or set off, you must be careful around these people. No matter what the situation is, patience is a virtue.

Personally, I am not a super patient human being. However, I am also very good at seeming to be patient, especially when there is a benefit like money involved. Pretending to be patient sometimes helps me become patient. Either way, as long as there is no outward disturbance on my part, and I continue to look friendly, and everything is fine.

I did not see a whole lot of content about friendliness in my business course. It seems to me that being nice and personable is underrated. In my experience when someone is very nice, people want to buy from them; it tugs on their emotions. Why should they not support someone who just brings kindness to the table? They feel bad, especially when it comes to children. People want to support the next generation.

All in all, I think my most important skill is truly perfect in salesmanship, and that is to adapt and “fake it til I make it”, so to speak. It is easily applied to all sales situations, and it covers a range of skills. It does not perfect them, but I would rather have five good skills than one great one. Sometimes it is difficult for me to get out of my comfort zone and just do something. In the end, whenever I do it always ends up a better situation than when I do not.

A 9-Month Plan To Get A Part-Time Job (At No Less Than $20/Hour)

Photo by Frans van Heerden on Pexels.com

Here is a 9-month plan to get a part-time job at no less than $20/hour to help a businessman improve his marketing. During month one; find a job and try your best to get hired. The next month, get to understand and attain knowledge from the place, and where everything is. On month three you should know the people who worked there. For instance, their personality, some of their brief history, etc. Months four and five would be writing down things about the other people that work there, and how you could help that business grow with that information.

The next three months would be helping the business make more money. If it was a restaurant, you should tell neighbor’s, friends, and family about how good the food was there. In order to help your defense on how good the food was, show good customer reviews, and take their arguments into consideration. If it was a store, you should find more people to purchase their products. Finally, for month nine, plan out your presentation and graph out your plans for the business. When you are finished, present it with confidence and humility.

Procrastination Kills

Procrastination is common, and one of the biggest challenges everyone has to face (and has faced, repeatedly). You have something to do, whether it seems obligatory to you or not, you know you should really get it done, but you just can’t bring yourself to do it. Instead, you do other things. Little unimportant things, distractions lets say, that can not only wait until after the other task is completed. The obvious answer to this, is that those tasks definitely should wait, since their is a bigger one on hand. Or maybe your the kind of person who just stares out the window, who gets lost in your own head, a daydreamer. You look at the clock and find out you have just wasted a lot more time than you thought you would’ve. This is when procrastination gets the best of you. Procrastination is deadly, and toxic to say the least. It clicks in your brain that a certain task, no matter how ‘big’ or ‘important’ it actually is, it seems boring and a waste of time. You, yourself, are not being ignorant on purpose, just bored.

There is a limited amount of time in a day. Every day, it is a race before the day ends, to get everything you need to get done, completed. It is best to use that time to one’s greatest benefit, rather than wasting it, or dilly-dallying around. Sometimes that may prove harder than anyone realizes at first. Procrastinating forces you to cram a project into a short window of time to make sure it hits the deadline, for the last minute. This greatly reduces the quality of the work. Maybe you have an essay due or a project for work. Either way, you might end up getting a worse grade than you would have, or your boss might not be happy enough with your work. Procrastination kills your quality of work no matter what the project is. Procrastination also kills your mental wellbeing, whether you realize it or not. The stress of not having something done, or falling behind takes a toll on your mind. It is a vicious cycle, maybe your feeling down and unmotivated. So you procrastinate, which makes you feel more down and less motivated, so you procrastinate more, etc. It can keep going for a long time until you break the cycle. Although, at this point, it’s become a habit. Quite a popular one among that masses too. In order to break a habit, you need to stay strong, and persistent for a total of 30-days.

The ramifications of procrastination have been discussed, but how do you stop it? For thirty days no less? Here are a few things that help me to stay on track, and be focused: music, goals, and breaks. Now, everybody is different. So if these suggestions don’t work, or go to par for you, that doesn’t mean give up. Don’t let procrastination get the better of you, for how long it already has. I suggest to do some research, and experiment. To figure out your personal, and best-fitting way to combat the virus of procrastination. In the meantime, here are a few ways I combat procrastination:

1. Music

I love music very much. I listen to it all the time, whenever I possibly can. It personally helps me focus, and relax. In fact, I am listening to music right now. The type of music depends on my mood. Most of the time I listen to more peacful music like Lofi pop, slowed-reverb, or sometimes jazz. To me, this pleasant, softer music helps me focus the most. However, sometimes my mood is different, and I am feeling restless. In that case, loud rock, metal, or Trap mixes help me focus a lot more. Music helps me focus, and since I enjoy listening to it so much, it curbs the urge to do something else. It motivates me to be productive, and not lazy.

2. Goals

When I mean goals, I mean specifically timed goals. A lot of times I give myself a specific time frame to do something. I usually plan my day by times of when I should do specific tasks. So I don’t spend an hour right when I wake up, trying to figure out the best motives, when I could’ve used that to get ready, or do a small workout. With time-oriented goals, there is plenty of time to complete my project. Plenty of time to do it well, in the time frames I give myself day-to-day. So that, once it is due, the project was done with the best of my ability. You just have to focus on the light at the end of the tunnel, because by creating a timed goal you can see that light. You know how long the tunnel is. It does not seem nearly as distant, it seems much more real and fathomable.

3. Breaks

I find this to be very important. It doesn’t matter what you do in your break time, but it should be a reasonable amount of time. I find thirty minutes to be a good amount of time. During this time, you can read, draw, write, eat, take a nap, or even just daydream. By giving yourself (small or long) breaks, you have something to look forward to. You can save all the stuff you use to procrastinate with, for these breaks. Breaks are also considered the light at the end of the tunnel. They ease the stress out of your day, and bring little spurts of happiness.

Procrastination is something everyone has to deal with occasionally, and some deal with it more than others. The important thing is dealing with it, fighting it, and stopping it. Stopping it right in its tracks, before it becomes a bigger problem (or to decrease of how much of a problem it has become). Just like with most things, it’s never easier to start than it is to stop.

Why have a USP?

There are 5 specific areas where having a USP can make your job easier while improving your business results:

Photo by Stacey Koenitz R on Pexels.com

(1) Selling

One of the toughest objections in selling is, “Why should we buy blue widgets from you instead of our existing supplier or your other competitors?”

With a USP, you can confidently and immediately respond with a powerful, well-thought-out presentation of why you are different, better, and the smart purchase decision.

(2) Marketing

We are taught to stress benefits in marketing, but if every marketer in the field makes the same benefit claim, how can your campaign possibly stand out?

The answer: formulate a great USP and feature it in your ads, letters, websites, and newsletters.

(3) Content marketing

We know content marketing is hot right now.

Well, one of the best applications is to create a white paper clearly articulating the USP, and offer it as a lead magnet.

Doing so takes your USP from a brief differentiating factor to blowing it out in a more well-reasoned, credible, in-depth argument for why we are better than the competition.

(4) Email marketing

Offer an e-class — an auto-responder series of content-rich emails educating your prospects on the details of your USP.

If your USP is strong, true, and sincere, it should go a long way toward moving prospects on your e-list further along the sales cycle.

(5) Telemarketing

Your telemarketing reps face a tough, uphill battle on a long road fraught with difficulty and disappointment.

But a well-crafted USP can help them turn things about — by saying right up front something different and important that catches prospects off guard and gets them to listen a bit more.

This simple 5-point checklist is just the tip of the iceberg. But it should be a sufficient idea-starter list on the road to maximizing ROI from your existing or new USP.

Student Benefits With Ron Paul Curriculum (RPC)

1) Learning good note-taking skills. From my experience, this is a crucial skill and daily activity a student should perform in order to help retain information learned from the lecture and reading assignments. Notes also show that you’ve completed your lesson and they can be used for future reference.

2) The Ron Paul Curriculum is time efficient. Each full lesson generally takes an hour or less. Plus, once you’ve finished, there’s no homework or extra projects. This also helps retain memory: concise lessons are easier to remember.

3) You have a flexible schedule. I learn at my own pace and at times of the day which are most convenient for me. My break times are also flexible.

4) You’ll waste no time on trivial information. The courses are designed to help you learn the fundamental essentials you need to finish high school and enter college (if wished).

5) RPC CLEP cram courses prepare you for CLEP exams efficiently. Just like all RPC courses, the RPC cram courses only give you what you need to know to pass the CLEP exam to receive college credit, to avoid wasting time and money on the course again in college. Cram courses are super-condensed reviews of a traditional full school year course.

Which Of These Ads Best Conforms To Joyner’s Standards Of, “An Irresistible Offer”?

Photo by Fallon Michael on Pexels.com

The Irresistible Offer: How to Sell Your Product or Service in 3 Seconds or Less, is a book written by Mark Joyner. It tells you how to create the ideal advertisement. In order to do so, you must follow the three components of The Irresistible Offer:

  1. A High ROI Offer
  2. A Touchstone
  3. Believability

The first part of The Irresistible Offer is the ROI. ROI stands for “return on investment.” A high ROI offer would be an offer that gives you a lot for the money you pay. The second part of The Irresistible Offer is a touchstone. A touchstone is composed of four parts. Here’s what we are selling, how much it will cost, what’s in it for you, and why you should trust us. The last part of The Irresistible Offer is believability. Believability is how believable the ad is. Now that we have a brief explanation of what The Irresistible Offer is, let’s see how well each of the following commercials follows it. The commercials are of the following:

  1. M&M’s
  2. TRS-80 Computer
  3. Commodore IBM PC
  4. American Express

M&Ms (1957)

Provided By M&M’s Comerciais

The following commercial will be critiqued with the checklist of requirements for The Irresistible Offer, starting with the ROI. Unfortunately, this commercial does not say the price of the product. With this inconvenience, I cannot tell you if the ROI is high or not. The touchstone is incomplete, although it’s very close to being complete. It shows the product they are selling, but not how much it costs. It says what’s in it for you, the chocolate candy will not melt in your hand. Although, the candy coating will probably get sticky after a while, it is advertising that it won’t melt as fast as regular chocolate. It shows why you should trust them; the man in the commercial shows a demonstration of the chocolate not melting. In my point of view, I would concur that it’s just on the line of believable. There’s nothing untrustworthy about this video. I think the description was very well done. I believe The Irresistible Offer should mention description, because a well-done description tempts me to buy something more.

Radio Shack TRS-80 computer, (1980)

Provided by zipherbug

Seeing this commercial, it sounds like a great product with many uses. The price of this computer was $399 in its time. This was a good price, and the ROI was definitely high. As for the touchstone, it does say what they are selling (a computer), how much it will cost (estimated, $400), what’s in it for you (they listed the benefits of the computer), and why you should trust them (they showed people using the product). The last thing is believability, which in my opinion, made the standard. The demonstrations and uses listed seemed perfectly believable. Although this isn’t part of The Irresistible Offer, but they also did a great job with the advertisements description.

Commodore, (1987, Australia)

Provided by Ye Old Movie Vault

This computer was being sold for $1395. For a computer like this, it was reasonable. Its not particularly expensive, nor particularly cheap. It does not come with the monitor, although there is a deal to buy it for only $100. It seems to me that the ROI is average, and not high, not low. As for the touchstone, each requirement was filled. They were selling a computer. They told us how much it cost, $1395, or $1495 (with the monitor). They told us what’s in it for us, and why we should trust them. Technically it matched the touchstone, but there were not many things in it for us. In addition, there was a lack of description in the advertisement.

American Express (late 1960’s)

Provided by robatsea2009

In this commercial, the ROI is unknown since it does not mention the price of the card. For the touchstone, they showed what they were selling. Although, it was difficult to see and they never mentioned the price. There was one main benefit showed: the ability to easily make transactions in many situations. That part was entertaining and well done. It did not, however, advertise the benefits well. The situations used in the video showed why we could trust them. Although, the issue with trust is that we have to take their word for. It was as believable as an ad focused around entertainment could be.

At the end of the critiques, one advertisement definitely stood out to me. The Radio Shack TRS-80 computer (1980) seemed like it filled each requirement very well. If I lived back then, I probably would have purchased one. It seemed very reasonably priced, especially considering you don’t need to purchase a monitor too. Conveniently, instead of purchasing a monitor, it would hook up to your TV. In my opinion, hitting the basics and filling the requirements for The Irresistible Offer is not difficult. In fact, it is actually quite common in advertisements. However, there are some commercials that go the extra mile, and really perfect it.

The Logic Of An Ad

Photo by Prateek Katyal on Pexels.com

Advertisement n. (əd-ˈvər-təz-mənt) is the act or process of advertising something. Which is the action of calling something to the attention of the public. Advertisement has always been used, even from the dawn of man. Take this biblical excerpt for example, Genesis 3:1-6, “¹Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, “Did God really say, ‘You must not eat from any tree in the garden’?” ²The woman said to the serpent, “We may eat fruit from the trees in the garden, ³but God did say, ‘You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.'” ⁴”You will not certainly die,” the serpent said to the woman. ⁵”For God knows that when you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil. ⁶When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it.” -NIV, BibleGateway.

The serpent was a salesman, in a sense. He was trying to sell the fruit from the tree, that was planted in the middle garden. Eve, knowing what her Father told her, she spoke up and refused right away. Eve not only spoke up, but also gave explanation why she cannot consume the fruit. The serpent, being the clever salesman he is, twists the story. He says that the fruit will not curse you, but have you obtain power. Obtain so much power, that you could become a goddess yourself. Besides, God is truly not letting you eat this fruit because He fears you would over-power Him. If you continue reading Genesis Chapter 3, in the end, Eve and her companion do not attain power. They are cursed with the Fall of man, and are banished from their home. (Well, that was a bad investment.) The serpent advertised the forbidden fruit, sold the fruit to Eve, and she consumed it with her spouse. The serpent was successful with his advertisement.

This comes to show that advertisements, also known as ad’s, were never only produced recently (like a 100 years ago). The example of the serpent and fruit makes it evident otherwise. Although, this shows a bad example of the ad. Ad’s are not evil or sinister, themselves. Advertising is the way of obtaining wealth. For instance, the Silk Road. The Silk Road was an ancient trade route that linked the Western world with the Middle East and Asia. It was a major conduit for trade between the Roman Empire and China. They would trade, with no other than with the skill of advertising. Advertising spruces up the very thing you are trying to sell. Without advertisement, why would anyone want what you are trying to sell? Why would they invest in your product?

The logic of an ad, is simple. Its entire reason of existence, is to get you to have a major desire to buy the product that is being sold to you. For the salesman, they would obtain wealth because of this. Selling and earning money, is the advertisements main goal. Whether their are good intentions behind the ad, or bad ones, that is the goal nevertheless. Ad’s are consistent, repetitive, and are located everywhere. Ad’s are located on the radio, internet, billboards, milk curtains, magazines, etc. Advertisement can tell you which milk to purchase is healthier, what shoes would look better, and so on. Everything that is sold, has a purpose. Advertisement, is the way of helping (considered poor and rich people) earn more wealth. That wealth for the sellers could be through the positives for the costumer, the product for themselves, or money. Without advertisement, I couldn’t say if this society would be better off, or worse. All I know is, advertisement is not evil, and has no purpose with good or evil. Ad’s are tools used by sellers, to sell what they are showing the public. If the product is “evil” or “good,” it is the seller behind the advertisement, who designs it in such a way, that should be described with such vocabulary. Not the advertisement itself.

The Ideal Apprenticeship Jobs & Why

Apprenticeship n. (ə-ˈpren-təs-ˌship) is a position as an apprentice: an arrangement in which someone learns an art, trade, or job under another. An apprenticeship job gives you insights to the skills and techniques of a company or individual. Either you will learn what to do from his or her successes, or you will learn what not to do from his or her mistakes and/or failures. By working for a successful businessperson, you will have the ability to learn things that no textbook can teach. In my opinion, the ideal apprenticeship job would be one where I could learn customer service. Whatever business I choose to start, customer service will be crucial. Another apprenticeship job that I plan to look into, would be anything associated with real estate. Eventually, I hope to become a real estate investor, or possibly a real estate agent. Whatever I do, I need to begin soon.

I’m working at a local deli sandwich restaurant, called Jimmy John’s. I have learned much from the fast food industry and their workers. Customer service, thanks to instinct and the book “How to Win Friends And Influence People,” is almost perfection. I’ve been up-to-date with making sure every Jimmy Johns consumer receives the best-quality sandwiches and the best service. While getting to know them in the simplest ways. For instance, asking how their day is going, what’s planned for the weekend, etc. Let’s be frank, not all Jimmy John’s fast food joints are the best quality. Most of the workers don’t do a great job on making sure that the consumer receives a 100% of their effort. Most of the workers at my location realize this, and it strives them to be better than those locations that represent Jimmy Johns poorly. The Jimmy Johns location I work at always serves fresh food. The bread is baked every morning, and throughout the evening. The meat is always freshly sliced and stored in a sparkling clean cold table. My location has a system, and a well-done system. Sometimes that system is pushed aside by other workers, who are unfortunately lazy, and make the work 10x harder for those who are trying their best. For customer service, I would like to understand better ways on how to go about it, and how to make it perfect. For now, Jimmy Johns has given me the basic foundations of how to start big.

Another ideal apprenticeship job would be something associated with real estate. I have a major interest in looking at houses and properties, and watching what they sell for. For example, I used to watch Fixer Upper casting Chip and Joana Gaines. It is an American reality television series about home design and renovation. I would observe them take in houses, renovate them, decorate them, and sell them. They own a home renovation and redecoration business in Waco, Texas. This is not a usual teenager interest, but someday I hope to make of something of the interest I have grown for houses. Whether it’s real estate, party-planning, or owning a home renovation and redecoration business, I would like to pursue something of that sort. As of right now I know very little about real estate, or any of the other topics I’ve mentioned. I have a lot to learn before I could become an investor, party-planner, renovator & redecorator, or a real estate agent. An apprenticeship job would be full of benefits. If I could find a job associated with these subjects, it would be a priceless opportunity to learn.
